How Cannatrek is deploying innovation in Australia’s evolving plant-based medicine market

CEO Tommy Huppert at the Cannatrek Site | Cannatrek

The Australian plant-based medicine market is still heavily reliant on imports. Demand is frequently exceeding the supply capabilities of plant-based medicine companies operating in Australia, while the number of patients is continuing to increase rapidly.

Given the state of the market, we are developing infrastructure to support a variety of cultivation methods to meet the accelerating demands of the Australian plant-based medicine market.

While we already have a fully operational cultivation site in Queensland, we’re expanding our facilities in Shepparton, Victoria to grow outdoors in polytunnels, glasshouses and in an indoor cultivation facility that will include a GMP-compliant post-harvest processing facility. We’ve finished building a manufacturing and distribution facility where we hope to soon have full GMP accreditation to pack whole flower.

We’re focused on producing high-quality, safe, and aesthetically pleasing plant-based medicine products that patients want and need.
