Agriculture jobs boosted
Over 75 jobs are anticipated to be generated when the new plant-based medicine production facility, developed by Cannatrek at Lemnos, becomes fully operational.
On April 14, Regional Development Minister Mary-Anne Thomas visited the facility to announce a grant from the Victorian Government’s Regional Jobs Fund for Cannatrek.
Established in 2016, the Australian-owned company produces plant-based medicine at its Queensland research and development greenhouse facility for over 6,000 patients.
The Greater Shepparton development will be the first production facility located outside of Queensland.
This project will enable Cannatrek to depend on locally produced plant-based medicine from Australia rather than relying on imports.
